Traceflap Terms of Use

Last updated: 26 October 2026 (draft, review by a specialist pending)

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is binding.

1. Scope

These Terms of Use govern the use of Traceflap (app, website and related online services), offered by Gregor Scheiwiller, LAB336, Switzerland ("we"). By using Traceflap, you accept these terms.

2. Service

Traceflap accompanies your journeys door to door with all means of transport: timetable and live status, alerts along the way, a travel guide at your destination and a journal of your trips. We may further develop or change the service or discontinue individual features.

3. Free and paid

Free features are the timetable, connections, travel guide with day plan, packing list and offers from partners. The live companion on the day of travel ("Traceflap Trip") is paid: live display on the lock screen, alerts for delays, platform or gate changes, Plan B, stop alarm, places that notify you, trip in your calendar and baggage check. Your first recorded trip is completely free.

Offers (prices in CHF, including any VAT; the price in the App Store is binding):

Purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled through your Apple account; Apple's terms apply in addition. Subscriptions renew automatically for one year unless you cancel them at least 24 hours before they expire in your Apple account settings. After expiry, the free features remain available, while the live companion is locked. We may change prices and the scope of the paid features for future purchases; periods already paid for remain unaffected.

4. Partner offers and bookings

Traceflap shows offers from partners, such as hotels, flights, transfers, eSIMs, tickets and compensation for flight delays. Bookings are made with the respective provider, usually in a browser window within the app. The contract is concluded solely between you and the provider; the provider's terms and prices apply. We are neither a tour operator nor an intermediary within the meaning of package travel law and are not liable for the providers' services.

Prices in the app ("from …") are indicative values based on partner data and may differ from the provider's price; the provider's price is binding. Partner links are marked as such. If a booking is made via such a link, we receive a commission from the provider; this does not change the price for you.

5. Live data without guarantee

Delays, platforms, gates, connections, opening hours and other information come from transport operators, airports and other sources. They may be missing, incorrect or late. The displays and announcements of the railway, airline, airport and operator are always authoritative. Information on compensation does not constitute legal advice.

Timetables and real-time data come in part from open data provided by transport operators and authorities (list under Settings → Legal → Data sources). These bodies give no guarantee for their data and accept no liability for it. You waive any claims against them arising from this data and indemnify them against claims arising from your use of the data via Traceflap. This applies in particular to the State of Queensland (Translink). None of these bodies supports or endorses Traceflap.

6. Right of use

You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use Traceflap for your own purposes within the scope of these terms. Software, design, texts, data and trademarks remain with us or the respective rights holders.

7. Prohibited use

In particular, it is prohibited

a) to use, query or extract data from the service with bots, scrapers, scripts or other automated means, except via interfaces that we expressly provide for this purpose;

b) to reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, website or software in whole or in part, or to attempt in any other way to determine source code, algorithms or data structures, unless mandatory law permits this;

c) to copy content, design or features or to use them for your own or a third party's competing offering;

d) to circumvent security, access or usage restrictions or to overload the service.

In the event of violations, we may block access and claim damages.

8. Shared trips

When you share a trip live, a link is created that anyone with this link can open. You decide whom you send it to and can stop sharing at any time. It ends automatically after arrival.

9. AI features

Some features (importing bookings, plan in words, trip report) use Apple's AI on your iPhone. Results are generated automatically and may be incorrect. Check imported trips and do not make important decisions based solely on them.

10. Availability and liability

We strive for reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence, and in particular not for missed connections or consequential costs.

11. Data protection

How we handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes

We may amend these terms. We will announce material changes in the app or on the website.

13. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is the registered office or domicile of the provider, to the extent permitted by law. Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder shall remain valid.
